[Takanashi Saralis one of the top ski jumpers in Japan. She
has broken many records. In 2011, she won an official
international competition at the age of 14. In 2018, she set the
all-time record for the most victories at the FIS Ski Jumping
World Cup.
Takanashi has been studying English hard since she was an
elementary school student. She says, "English is a tool that I
need as a professional athlete. For example, athletes have to
use English for interviews."
She also says, "People around me talk in many different
languages. Being able to speak English gives me confidence.
This helps me to concentrate on my performance."
She wants to encourage younger jumpers with her example.
She always wants to make the ski jump more popular in Japan.
