Time and Place, Inversion
We use phrases with prepositions and adverbs when we describe time and place. They are usually
placed at the end of a clause or sentence. However, some emphatic expressions should be placed at the
beginning of aclause or sentence and need to have an unusual structure, called inversion.
Choose a phrase from the box below to complete each of the following sentences. Use a capital
letter to begin the first word of each sentence.
