How did you react to Carl Sagan's description of the power of the written word when you read the quote about the magic of books?
という質問があって、本文は、
What an astonishing thing a book is. It's a flat object made from a tree with flexible parts on which are imprinted lots of funny dark squiggles.
But one glance at it and you're inside the mind of another person, maybe someone dead for thousands of years. Across the millennia, an author is speaking clearly and silently inside your head, directly to you.
Writing is perhaps the greatest of human inventions, binding together people who never knew each other, citizens of distant epochs.
Books break the shackles of time. A book is proof that humans are capable of working magic.

私の思い浮かんだアイデアです。本文の要約かもですが。。。

人類の様々な考え方や、それを記した人の頭の中を、時や場所を越えて自由自在にのぞいたり触れたりできる、本という媒体は時空を飛び越える魔法の乗り物のようだ。自分が認識していた書物は、２次元の存在だったが、セーガン博士に掛かると４次元の世界の存在に感じられる。

何かヒントの一助になれば。。。
