所有格をつけるつけないの違いがわかりません。
例えば写真の英文を自分は最後の文"for the future"を"for their future"と書いたのですがこれは○ですか？もし×なのであれば理由を教えてください。

全く問題ないと思います。
for their future ないし for their own future とすると良いと思います（後者の方がいいかも）。
