(1) hardly/scarcely ～ ほとんど～ない
例文： I could hardly/scarcely understand what Ken said.
私はケンの言ったことをほとんど理解できなかった。
(2) rarely/seldom ～ めったに～ない
例文： Andy rarely/seldom speaks when people are around.
人々が周りにいる時、アンディはめったに話しをしない。
(3) little+不可算名詞(＝単数名詞) … ほとんど…がない
例文： There is little water available for agriculture.
農業用の水はほとんどない。
(4) few＋複数名詞・加算名詞… ほとんど…がない
例文： There were few books which I found interesting.
私が面白いと思った本はほとんどなかった。
〇【部分否定】
(1) not ～all/every 全てが～するわけではない
例文：Not all the companies support the idea of SDGs.＝ Not every company supports the idea of SDGs.
全ての会社が持続可能な開発目標の考えを支持しているわけではない。
(2) not ～both 両方とも～するわけではない
例文：I don't know both of them. 私は彼らの両方とも知っているわけではない。
(3) not always ～ 常に～するわけではない
例文：June and I are not always on good terms with each other.
ジューンと私はお互いいつも仲が良いというわけではない。(時には喧嘩もします)
(4) not necessarily ～ 必ずしも～するわけではない
例文：Hard work doesn't necessarily result in success but without it there'll be no success.
努力は必ずしも成功という結果になるわけではないが、努力なしでは成功はない。
