(33.~35.) People in Taiwan never worry about getting hungry at night when there is nothing at home. They can walk to the convenience stores and get anything they I want. In fact, in Taiwan, it is not possible that people fail to find a convenience store because it is part of our life. Convenience stores are working 24/7. In other words, finding a place to sit down and take a rest anytime is a piece of cake. In order to grow business, shopkeepers use some smart ways to have the buyers spend more. First, they put the most popular items at the buyers'eye level to let them see the items easily and often. Second, they drive the buyers to buy something cheap and small without thinking too much or give shoppers a special offer like "Buy One And Get One Free.” Third, they try to have the buyers stay at the convenience stores as long as possible by setting up a seating area. They think the buyers will buy one drink after another once they stay longer. In a study, 73 teenagers answer two of the questions. The pictures below show their interesting answers. These meat substitutes are often advertised as beneficial for the environment. But do the customers really like them? Read the following chatroom discussions about GreenBurger, a product using alternative-meat patties. (A) Olivia That's a firm NO! I tried one when I was a prep cook for Next Level Burgers...tasted awful, just like mashed peas gone to rot. (B) Smith I haven't tried them. I just don't see the point. They are heavily processed with more calories and sodium than meat and are more expensive too! Unless you are a strict vegetarian and eschew meat for ethical reasons, meat is surely a better deal. (C) Mika Not really. It tastes too much like actual meat. If I wanted to eat a dead cow, I would go for real burgers. Being vegan means I try to stick to plant food. But this is just not something that will ever interest me. (D) Thomas GreenBurger just tastes "beany" to me, so I think that whatever form it comes in, it works better in recipes that would usually contain beans, such as in a rice bowl (as ground meat substitute). That being said, I'm definitely a carnivore and prefer meat, but I don't see anything wrong with choosing one of the fakey- fakey meaty things once in a while-just for a change. (E) Rico I finally tried one last week. It didn't taste that bad, but I was surprised to find it had 40 more calories than the meat version! Isn't it supposed to be a healthy choice? (F) Linda I liked it fine. I did NOT like the price, though. Hopefully that will come down. I'm trying to eat less beef. (G) Ablo Yes! My whole family does. We've been mostly vegan 90% of the time for the last 6 years and we cannot thank GreenBurger enough! Especially when a burger craving hits...a GreenBurger does the trick. I've tried all kinds of vegan "burgers," and GreenBurgers are closer to what I'm looking for. In fact, I can have them every day-vegan or not! (H) Alexander Well, they taste good if you add plenty of spices and sauces. Good for you? No, not at all. They're highly processed and contain no vegetables. They also contain a very large amount of processed coconut oil, which is even worse than lard. It's a killer for sure if eaten regularly. So why risk your life? -9- 112年學測 請記得在答題卷簽名欄位以正楷簽全名 英文考科 第10頁 共11頁 47-48 請從文章中找出最適當的單詞(word)填入下列句子空格中,並視語法需要做適當的字形變 化。每格限填一個單詞(word)。(填充,4分) On the whole, the chatroom discussions about GreenBurger mainly focus on the issues of price, and 48 concerns. 47 49. From (A) to (H) in the above chatroom discussions, which ones show that GreenBurger can be a choice for the chatroom participants themselves only under certain circumstances? (45) 50. 英文問題 may not be什麼意思 感覺題目詳解給錯了

第 48 至 51 題為題組 Many of us have probably experienced déjà vu at least a few times in our life. Its meaning comes from the phrase "already seen" in French, and occurs when we feel that a person, place, or thing is familiar to us without actually having experienced them before. This strange phenomenon happens to as much as 70 percent of the population, but a higher number of 15 to 25 year olds experience it than any other age group. Maybe you just travelled to a new foreign country, and it just felt very familiar to you. Yes, you are feeling déjà vu; however, you know you haven't been there before. While different people experience déjà vu in different ways, it is still a pretty mysterious phenomenon, and researchers are putting the pieces together. Based on some studies, déjà vu is just a part of having a healthy memory checking system, and people who experience déjà vu more often are less likely to forget the details of important events. In fact, the results of the study don't look too promising in terms of mental health for people who never experience déjà vu. Scientists believe déjà vu is created by a neurological anomaly related to an improper electrical discharge in the brain. In short, it's not a mystical prophecy or out-of-body experience, but just your brain playing a trick on you; that is, these scientists dismiss it as just a glitch in the matrix. A few people are just terrified when it happens, but others feel euphoric about it. On average, most people just find it to be a perplexing sensation, neither pleasant nor threatening. Since déjà vu occurs in individuals with and without a medical condition, there is much speculation as to how and why it happens. Several psychoanalysts attribute deja vu to simple fantasy or wish fulfillment, while some psychiatrists ascribe it to a mismatching in the brain that causes it to mistake the present for the past. Many parapsychologists believe it is related to a past-life experience. Obviously, there is more investigation and researches to be done. So, does this article seem very familiar to you? 48. Which of the following CAN'T be described as a déjà vu experience based on this passage? (A) You keep buying similar style of clothing and you don't know why. (B) You feel you've been to a place when actually it's your first time there. (C) Someone looks familiar to you though you have never seen him before. (D) You just met a new friend whom you think you must have met somewhere. 49. Based on the article, which description about déjà vu is WRONG? (A) It actually is not as harmful to our mental health as we think. (B) Some people who have experienced it may feel a sense of happiness. (C) The word"déjà vu" originates from France, meaning"already seen." (D) Those who never experience it may not be mentally healthier than those who do.
