John Logie Baird

televisions. One of the most important of |them |was John Logie Baird, an
engineer from Scotland.
It was not easy work. Baird had many problems. His health was poor.
people that he talked to often thought he was crazy, and he suffered
dangerous electric shocks. Surprisingly, he worked with everyday items,
including a hatbox and a pair of scissors. He used |these] to make the first
working television. He demonstrated it for the first time in 1926.
Baird continued to work on televisions for the rest of his life. He later
created the first color television, as well as many other inventions. He is
now considered one of the greatest Scottish inventors ever.
Unlike some other inventions, the television was not created by a single
