仮定法による反実仮想についての問題です。
➀ she got up very late,so she was late for school.
↪︎If she got up very late,so she had been late for school.
➁Since he was dishonest,I didn’t employ him.
↪︎If he was dishonest, I had employed him.
➂As he didn’t take care of himself in his younger days, he is now ill in bed.
↪︎If he took care of himself in his younger days, he had been now ill in bed.

①と②は過去の事実の反対なので、仮定法過去完了を使い、③は「時差のある仮定法」なので要注意❣

①If she had not gotten up very late, she would not have been late for school.
もし起床があまり遅くなかったら、彼女は学校に遅刻しなかったでしょう。
②If he had not been dishonest, I would have employed him.
もし彼が不誠実でなかったら、私は彼を雇っていたでしょう。
③If he had taken care of himself in his younger days, he would not be in bed [now].
もし彼が若い時に体を大切にしていたら、今頃病の床に伏せってはいないでしょう。
※前半は過去の事実の反対なので仮定法過去完了で、後半は[現在]の事実の反対なので仮定法過去を使う。
