Modul Biologi Kelas XI KD 3.2 KEGIATAN PEMBELAJARAN 2 SINTESIS PROTEIN A. Tujuan Pembelajaran Setelah kegiatan pembelajaran 2 ini diharapkan peserta didik diharapkan mampu: 1. Memahami mekanisme transkripsi pada sintesis protein. 2. Memahami mekanisme tranlasi pada sintesis protein. 3. Memahami keterkaitan proses transkripsi dan translasi pada sintesis protein. B. Uraian Materi 1. Sintesis Protein Pertumbuhan berbagai karakter makhluk hidup adalah melalui reaksi kimia yang kompleks yang dilancarkan oleh enzim. Enzim tersusun oleh protein, sehingga sintesis protein sangat menentukan karakter makhluk hidup. Untuk sintesis protein diperlukan: 1. Tempat 2. Bahan 3. Perencana : DNA : ribosom. : asam amino 4. Pelaksana :3 macam RNA, enzim RNA polymerase, dan sumber energi ATP Pada prinsipnya proses sintesis protein melalui dua tahap yaitu transkripsi dan translasi. a. Transkripsi Transkripsi merupakan pembentukan RNA duta oleh DNA template atau rantai anti sense di inti sel. Langkah ini diawali dengan pemisahan rantai sense dengan rantai anti sense oleh enzim RNA polimerase, selanjutnya enzim ini merangkaikan nukleotida RNA. RNA d dibentuk dengan ketentuan: "gula yang dicetak adalah ribosa • basa yang dicetak meliputi Adenin, Guanin, Sitosin dan Urasil.
